Description:
-
How and why do animals run, jump, swim and fly? Physiology, anatomy, ecology, and evolutionary history all influence, and are influenced by, the way animals move around. We will integrate analyses from many levels of biological organization - from molecular motors, through bone-muscle systems, to biogeography - with methods and approaches from mechanics, fluid dynamics, and robotics. Expected: BIOL 0800 and PHYS 0030.
