This course offers an indroduction to the methods of "community oriented policing" establishing a partnership between law enforcement agencies and communities. The goal is to prepare students to understand and appreciate cultural diversity and to be able to communicate effectively with residents of high crime areas, as well as with advocates of programs for improving law enforcement practices. Prerequisite: Exit or exemption from Learning Support Reading and English.
