Instructor: Marilyn Mitchell winter Two Sessions Saturday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 pm, February 7 & 14 NON-Credit Tuition: $100/Lab Fee: $10 Draping is the art of using fabric to create an apparel design directly on the dress form, enabling the designer to bring an idea to life. Through careful consideration of the figure, fabric, fit and shape, a designer can bring innovation and individuality to apparel design. In this workshop students will explore basic draping principles and explore design ideas to develop an artful apron. Whether frilly, fancy, minimalist, or industrial, the apron has evolved into a fun fashion accessory-and necessity-that it is limited only by the designer'simagination. Learn basic draping techniques using your ideas, a dress form, muslin, and the guidance of our expert to develop a unique pattern for your design. Optional studio time after this workshop will be available for garment construction to a limited number of students at an additional fee.
