Description:
Instructor: Ruth Ansel Three Sessions Saturday, 9:00 am -1:00 pm, March 7, 14, 21 NON-CREDIT Tuition: $150/Lab Fee: $20 Egg tempera is the medium that Botticelli and Piero della Francesco used in the fifteenth century and that Andrew Wyeth and George Tooker have used more recently. Intense, unadulterated pigments are mixed with the yolk of a hen's egg to paint many delicate, translucent layers with a fine brush. With patient practice, the resulting painting will be a finely rendered and luminous treasure. This workshop appeals to artists with some drawing ability as well as art lovers who have a desire to understand and experience, hands-on, the technique of egg tempera painting.
