Topics include: proteins and nucleic acids, the genetic code, the central dogma, the genome, gene expression, metabolic transformations, and experimental methods (gel electrophoresis, X-ray crystallography, NMR). Also, algorithms for DNA sequence alignment, database search tools (BLAST), and DNA sequencing.
