The course includes discussions of scenarios for next 50-100 years, which articulate alternative development pathways in terms of climate change, food production, and biodiversity. The course discusses alterations and interactions among carbon, nitrogen and water cycles as they are modified by humans. Basic understanding of human impacts is complemented with discussions of potential applied solutions to environmental problems. Instructor permission required.
