Fundamental concepts relating to the adverse effects of chemical agents on human health. Topics include dose-response relationships, absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, mechanisms of toxicity, and the effects of selected environmental toxicants on organ systems. Many of these concepts will be reinforced through the use of a case-study approach where a pertinent environmental issue is incorporated into the ongoing lectures. Expected: BIOL 0500 or BIOL 0800.
