This is a study of the literary culture of the nineteenth century, including examinations of the works and contexts of the major figures in Romantic and Victorian literature. This course includes an examination of the responses of novelists, poets, and prose writers to the issues of the century. Lecture/Lab Hours: Three hours per week.
