This is an introduction to nomenclature, structure and reactions of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon compounds. The concepts of stereochemistry, reaction mechanisms, resonance theory, and aromaticity will be discussed. The laboratory session provides the training for basic laboratory techniques of modern organic chemistry. Lecture/Lab Hours: Three hours lecture and three hours laboratory per week.
