(Prerequisites: Program admission: AHS 101, BIO 193 and SUR 101 (taken no longer than 6 months prior to enrollment in SUR 112); Pre/Corequisite: SUR 102) Orients students to the clinical environment and provides experience with basic skills necessary to the surgical tech nologist. Topics include: scrubbing; gowning; gloving; and draping; assistance with patient care; processing of instru ments and supplies; maintenance of a sterile field; basic instrumentation; and environmental sanitation.
