(Prerequisite: ELC 120) Provides an introduction to networking technologies. Cover a wide range of mate rial about networking, from careers in networking to local area networks, wide area networks, protocols, topologies, transmission media, and security. Focuses on operating network management systems and imple menting the installation of networks. The course re views cabling, connection schemes, the fundamentals of LAN and Wan technologies, TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting, remote connectivity, and network maintenance and troubleshooting. Topics include: me dia and topologies, protocols and standards, network implementation, and network support.
