5.00 Credits Prerequisite(s): SCT 100 Introduces the Internet, a nationwide computer network that links colleges, businesses, and government agencies. Provides an excellent opportunity to understand, investigate and explore the Internet and related wide area networks. The student will learn how to connect a PC to the Internet as well as how to use communications software to access the many resources available on the network. Topics include: network fundamentals, Internet concepts, electronic mail, file transfer protocol (FTP), Telnet, Internet gophers, and information services.
