Provides an excellent opportunity to understand, investigate and explore the Internet and related wide area networks. The student will learn how to connect a PC to the Internet as well as how to use communications software to access the many resources available on the network. Topics include: network fundamentals, Internet concepts, electronic mail, file transfer protocol (FTP), Telnet, Internet gophers, and information services.
