Introduction to archaeological field methods. Locating different types of archaeological sites with field survey. Methods of field excavation. Study of local artifact types and lab techniques for artifact cleaning and identification. Selection of archaeological site, mapping, excavation, and preparation of artifacts, written analysis. Advisory: Completion of, or concurrent enrollment in ANTH 8 recommended. Repeatability: May be taken three times for credit. One hour lecture, nine hours laboratory. GE Area: Non-GE Applicable
