Investigation and integration of mathematical topics, emphasizing critical-thinking skills and problem-solving strategies. Topics include number systems, set theory, number theory, algebraic reasoning, modeling, whole numbers, integers, rational and irrational numbers, functions, numeration, application to real-world problems, use of technology. Course provides collegiate-level quantitative reasoning appropriate for liberal arts and teacher preparation majors. Prerequisite: Satisfactory score on the mathematics placement test or MATH 105.
