Introduction to music theory using the guitar as an instrument instead of the piano. Introduction to notation, notes on the guitar, intervals, major and minor scales, chords, and basic principles of chord voicing as applied to the guitar. Not designed as a performance class but intended for music students whose primary instrument is the guitar. Prerequisite: elementary guitar skills. Advisory: MUS 14.
