Review of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of signed numbers. Introduction to algebraic concepts including solving first degree equations and evaluating and simplifying expressions. Development and applications of ratios, proportions, percents, geometric concepts and basic algebra. Prerequisite: Satisfactory score on the mathematics placement test or MATH 250 or 250L. Advisories: Not open to students with credit in MATH 200 and 200 A, B, C, D, E. Five hours lecture, one hour laboratory. GE Area: Non-GE Applicable
