Description:

Study and performance of early wind band repertoire. Emphasis will be on the literature of the Renaissance and Baroque eras of music history. The learning of correct playing techniques, particularly ornamentation; in large ensemble performance will be stressed. Attendance at all scheduled performances is mandatory. Prerequisite: Enrollment subject to audition administered by the college staff which demonstrates ability or technical performance by the student to a level of proficiency determined by a standardized testing procedure. Repeatability: Any combination of MUSP 30, 30X, 30Y & 30Z may be taken for a maximum of 48 units. Twelve hours lecture-laboratory, eight hours laboratory. GE Area: Non-GE Applicable
