Continuation of SPAN 25A. Extensive reading and analysis of texts with emphasis on literary works such as short stories, essays and poems. Critical analysis of the major political, historical and social issues exposed in these texts. Writing of extended term papers and compositions using advanced grammar. Understanding and appreciating the ambiguities, vagaries and value inherent in the target language. Instruction in Spanish. Prerequisite: SPAN 25A. Four hours lecture. GE Area: Humanities
