An introduction to the technical and aesthetic principles of lighting for digital video and film. Students will explore basic lighting instruments and their characteristics and use in the art of lighting. Topics include color, composition, exposure, light and shadow, three-point lighting, basic electricity, and grip equipment. Advisories: VART 20 or PHOT 5. Three hours lecture, two and one-half hours lecture-laboratory. GE Area: Non-GE Applicable
