Designed for associate degree programs, this course is an overview of the broad field of psychology. Some of the many sub-fields that will be studied include: the science of psychology; physiology and behavior; life stages/developmental; consciousness; sensation and perception; learning; memory; personality; abnormal behavior; therapy; and social psychology. Students will have a basic understanding of human behavior and how it is researched and applied to our lives. They will have a broad understanding of the many sub-fields and disciplines that make up the field of psychology. In addition, students will have the ability to apply many theories and concepts to their own growth and development.
