This unit of study is designed to help the student understand the health related needs that result from the normal aging process. The focus is on factors that promote a healthy aging process. Discussons will include the demographics and characteristics of the aging population. Special concerns on the elderly such as poly pharmacy, safety/falls, depression, and environments of care will be discussed. End of Life Care is included in the course content. 1 semester hour credit. [A]
