This course is a study of the fi lms, related philosophic foundations and directors of the cinema of Latin America and Spain. This course will be taught in English. Approximately 14 full-length feature fi lms will be viewed in the original Spanish (one in Portuguese) with English subtitles. Students will write essays examining various themes in the fi lms and discussed in class. This course has been designated as an international/diversity course. SPT 2521 fulfi lls 6,000 words of the Gordon Rule writing requirement. Prerequisites: Grades of "C" or higherin ENC 1101-1102. 3 semester hours credit [A]
