(3.0 Units) (No prerequisite. Can be taken for credit as Administration of Justice 204 or Sociology 184. However, credit will be awarded for only one course. Three lecture hours weekly.) An introduction to the major theoretical explanations of criminal behavior; social and economic factors which contribute to crime; major typologies of criminal behavior; criminal justice systems and research; courts, probation and parole; police and other institutions.
