(4.0 Units) (No prerequisite. Three lecture and three laboratory hours weekly.) An introductory course in the theory and practice of interior design to acquaint the student with contemporary design, architecture, and furniture; color theory and application; basic residential construction methods and materials; surface treatment (walls, floors, windows, etc.); the use of drafting tools and methods; and learning to draw simple plans. Classes may include field trips and guest lecturers that relate to various aspects of interior design. May be taken three times for credit. (CSU) CSU Area C-1
