(4.0 Units) (No prerequisite. Three lecture and three laboratory hours weekly.) Exercises in line, light and shade, texture, and perspective rendering of objects in space; development of good composition by means of balance, repetition and variation, focal point, economy, etc. A variety of graphic materials (pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, washes, color, etc.) will be used for both realistic and experimental drawings. Lectures, demonstrations, critiques, and supervision of works in progress. A sketchbook and/or portfolio of work done in and out of class may be required. Required of all art majors.
