(3.0 Units) (No prerequisite. Three lecture hours weekly.) This course examines the ways in which female and male roles and sex role stereotyping influence our lives. Topics will include biological and cultural contributions to sex role-playing in interpersonal relationships, and the impact of sex roles on personal growth. Emphasis on the social and personal implications of moving toward androgyny (role-free human behavior and identity). (CSU/UC)
