(3.0 Units) (No prerequisite. Two lecture and three laboratory hours weekly.) Introduction to the identification procedures, systematics, ecology, and natural history of bryophytes and vascular plants. Emphasis is on the identification and natural history of local plants native to Marin's 14 plant communities. Laboratory investigations include hands-on analysis of vascular plant parts useful for identification purposes. Field explorations are used in understanding the ecology of local plant communities.
