(2.0 Units) (Prerequisites: Math 104 and 105. Two lecture hours weekly.) This course is an introduction to computer tools and techniques useful for scientific data analysis and problem solving. The course makes use of spreadsheet software (such as Microsoft Excel) and the MATLAB programming language. Students learn to perform routine data analysis, including use of mathematical equations, statistical analysis, graphing, and curve fitting, as well as basic programming structures and a variety of problem-solving techniques involving algebraic and trigonometric equations.
