Transfer Students planning to transfer to a four-year institution should complete the lower division major requirements and general education pattern for the appropriate transfer institution and major. Requirements Units CHEM 131 General Chemistry I 5 CHEM 132 General Chemistry II 5 CHEM 231 Organic Chemistry I 5 CHEM 232 Organic Chemistry II 5 MATH 123 Analytic Geometry and Calculus I 5 MATH 124 Analytic Geometry and Calculus II 5 MATH 223 Analytic Geometry, Vector Analysis, and Calculus III 5 PHYS 207A Mechanics and Properties of Matter 5 PHYS 207B Electricity and Magnetism 5 PHYS 207C Heat, Light, Sound, and Modern Physics 5 Chemistry Courses (CHEM) Letter grade: Chemistry 110, 115, 131-132, 132E, 215, 231-232, 232E. Letter grade or pass/no pass option: All other courses. In general, courses required for a transfer student's four-year major should be taken on a letter grade basis. The courses marked with two asterisks (**), Chemistry 110, 114 and 131, require that on the FIRST day of instruction, the students present to the instructor confirmation that the prerequisite of the course has been met. Chemistry 105, 105L, 110 and 114 are one?semester courses that can satisfy the general education requirements. Chemistry 114 and 115 represent one year of chemistry for most baccalaureate programs in nursing, health science, laboratory and medical technicians, physical therapy, and nonscience majors. Chemistry 131, 132, 132E represent one year of chemistry for biological science, physical science, engineering and preprofessional (medical, veterinary, and pharmacy) majors.
