(2.0 Units) (Prerequisite: Court Reporting 115J. Total of eight units of machine shorthand required. One and one-quarter lecture and two and one-quarter laboratory [one unsupervised] hours weekly.) This course is designed to develop stenotype machine dexterity; improve fluent reading of stenotype notes; the ability to take dictation at 125 wam on 5-minute Jury Charge tests with at least 95% accuracy; and continue the development of technical, medical, legal, and general vocabulary, as well as familiarization with current events. The student will simulate the role of court reporter in a variety of situations. May be taken four times for credit. (CSU)
