(3.0 Units) (No prerequisite. Three lecture hours weekly.) The instructor will cover the following areas: (a) the general concepts of the law to include real and personal property, negligence and personal injury, contracts, wills, probate and domestic relations, corporate law, insurance, criminal law and equity; (b) procedural law including trial procedures; subpoenas, depositions, appellate procedures, and the structure of the judicial system. Designed for either the legal secretary or the verbatim reporter. Field trips may include the courthouse, law library, jails and prisons. (CSU)
