(0.5 Unit) (No prerequisite. Corequisite: Dental Assisting 101. Six laboratory hours daily for four days.) Community dentists require sterilization assistants to be trained in disinfection and sterilization procedures in compliance with strict State OSHA Standards for infection control, hazard communication and waste management. This lab course provides the opportunity for the student to demonstrate and practice disinfection, sterilization procedures and dental charting. (CSU)
