Three lecture hours weekly) This introductory course explains the ages and stages of development from birth through adolescence, describing physical, intellectual, social and emotional growth. Emphasis is on the practical application of principles and the adult role in supporting optimal growth. This course meets the Department of Social Services licensing requirements for coursework in early childhood education. It also meets requirements for all levels of the Child Development Permits. (CSU)
