(4.0 Units) (No prerequisite. Three lecture and three laboratory hours weekly.) This hands-on class is appropriate for anyone who is considering a career in cinema or who wants to take a filmmaking class for fun and personal enrichment. The focus of the course is to give students a basic set of filmmaking and visual communication skills. Using digital video, 16mm film and computers, students, working in groups and individually, learn and practice the fundamentals of filmmaking without having to incur the cost of producing a complete film.
