(5.0 Units) (Prerequisite: Math 101 or 101XY. Five lecture hours weekly.) This course is an extension of many of the concepts introduced in elementary algebra. The real number properties, polynomials, rational expressions, first degree equations, inequalities and applications, exponents, radicals, quadratic equations and complex numbers are treated in greater detail. In addition, functions and their graphs, systems of equations and inequalities, matrices, linear programming, exponential and logarithmic functions will be covered. This course will satisfy the prerequisite for Math 121. This course will be offered in the Math Lab (individualized mode) as well as the lecture/discussion mode.
