(4.0 Units) (Prerequisite: Math 103 or 103G or 103XY or satisfactory score on Math Assessment Test. Credit will be awarded for either Math 115 or Statistics 115, but not both courses. Four lecture hours weekly.) This course is an in-depth introduction to probability and statistics, and is especially appropriate for students in the math and life/earth science disciplines. Descriptive statistics, introduction to probability theory, probability distributions, data sampling, estimation, correlation, hypothesis testing. Can also be offered in a distance learning format.
