(3.0 Units) (No prerequisite. Three lecture hours weekly.) Using lecture, discussion, and video, this course will provide students with an understanding of terrorism from historical, political, ideological, and religious perspectives. The course examines the motivational and organizational aspects of modern terrorism, as well as the strategic and tactical responses to the terrorist threat, and the impact of terrorism on the political, economic and legal/constitutional integrity of the sovereign state. The course will employ the expertise of specialists in the fields of psychology, philosophy, sociology, and law. This course is available to both credit and adult education students.
