Banner Title: Cardio Anatomy/Physiology This course provides an in-depth study of cardiac and pulmonary anatomy and physiology, as well as the diagnostic procedures commonly used in hospitals to evaluate these systems. Topics include the function of the respiratory system, ventilatory mechanisms, gas transport in the blood, natural and chemical regulation of breathing, circulation, blood flow and pressure, and cardiac output. Instructors emphasize the heart-lung relationship and clinical applications of these phenomena in the cardiopulmonary system. Prerequisites: BIO 193 with a grade of C or better, BIO 194 with a grade of C or better, BIO 197 with a grade of C or better, CHM 191 with a grade of C or better, ENG 191, ENG 193 or HUM 191, ENG 195 or SPC 191, MAT 190 or MAT 191 or MAT 196 with a grade of C or better, PHY 190 with a grade of C or better Offered Spring term
