Banner Title: Diagnostic Lab Procedures This course introduces the principles and procedures for the veterinary practice laboratory and emphasizes laboratory safety; handling specimens; technical skills in hematology, cytology, clinical chemistry, serology, urinalysis, parasitology, and radiology; maintaining laboratory equipment; and quality control principles and practices. Topics include handling of laboratory specimens and laboratory safety, principles of hematology and cytology, clinical chemistry, serology, urinalysis, parasitology, and radiology. Field trips may occur on days other than scheduled class times. Students must pay a $25 supply fee when registering for this course. Prerequisites for Spring 2009: CHM 191, VET 106 with a grade of C or better Prerequisite beginning Winter 2010: VET 106 with a grade of C or better Corequisite: VET 103 Offered Spring 2009, Winter term thereafter
