Description: Introduction to the chemistry of hydrocarbons with emphasis on structure and reactivity of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alkyl halides, alcohols and ethers. Mechanistic considerations, stereochemistry and spectroscopy are an integral part of the course. Recommended to be taken concurrently with CHEM 237. Transfer: CSU: B1, UC. (IGETC: 5A)
