Units 4; Class Hours: Minimum of 64 lecture/16 by arrangement lab hours/semester; Prerequisite(s): ESL 843 or 853, or placement by College ESL Placement Test. Description: Introduces students to advanced academic writing in response to readings. Special attention is paid to comprehension, vocabulary development, paragraph and essay writing, grammar and mechanics of written academic English. The course is designed to prepare students for college-entry courses. Units do not apply toward AA/AS degree.
