Description: A survey of children's literature including the following genres: Traditional (folklore, myths, fables, epics, legends, fairytales), picture books, modern fantasy and science fiction. Emphasis is placed on understanding how quality children's literature experiences contribute to children's literacy skills. Included are guides for selecting and evaluating children's literature and related literacy experiences from infancy to adolescence. Transfer: CSU.
