Units (Grade Option) 1; Class Hours: Minimum of 48 lab hours/semester; Recommended: Eligibility for READ 420, ENGL 100, and MATH 110 or 111; Prerequisite(s): MUS. 290 and completion of, or concurrent enrollment in MUS. 260. Description: Learn how to compose music for film and other media. Apply music concepts such as spotting, synchronization, sound editing and various aesthetic approaches to creatively add sound to the moving image. Instruction features handson use of commonly available commercial music software, as well as lecture and viewing film excerpts. Transfer: CSU.
