Units (Grade Option) 2; Class Hours: Minimum of 48 lecture/16 by arrangement lab hours/semester; Recommended: Eligibility for READ 836, and ENGL 836 or ESL 400; Prerequisite(s): None. Description: A conversational course that provides students with no prior knowledge of Spanish the opportunity to develop basic oral communication skills that allow them to use the language to talk about themselves, their families, their studies, other occupations and their surroundings. Also included are the cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world such as how to address people, the educational system, family structure and clothing. (This course does not fulfill language requirement at California State Universities or at the University of California.)
