(CAN SPAN 10) (CAN SPAN SEQ B = SPAN 130 + 140) Units (Grade Option) 3; Class Hours: Minimum of 48 lecture/16 by arrangement lab hours/semester; Recommended: Eligibility for READ 836, and ENGL 836 or ESL 400; Prerequisite(s): SPAN 130 or 132, or equivalent. Description: Vocabulary development and composition in topics such as social and economic issues, work-related and sparetime activities, breakthroughs in technology and medicine. Cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world related to these topics are presented through literature, art, songs, videos, newspapers, internet. Pluperfect subjunctive, relative pronouns, indirect speech, passive voice. The class is conducted primarily in Spanish. Transfer: CSU: C2, UC. (IGETC: 3B, 6)
