(3 credits, 90 contact hours) SP The expanded roles and responsibilities of the pharmacy technician are explored in the course. Topics include: record keeping, drug distribution systems, drug use review, hands-on automation, quality assurance, time studies, investigational medication studies, data retrieval from medical records, self-care monitoring equipment, compounding of nonsterile products, and drug information retrieval systems. The purpose of this course is to prepare participants for PTN 1941L Pharmacy Technician Internship II. Lab fee. Pass with a C or better. Corequisites: PTN 1131.
