(8 credits) SP, S Second semester course teaching a review of anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system, pathophysiology, and management techniques. Reading formal EKGs and recognizing dysrhythmia, using dosage and therapy used in prehospital situations, and communications by telemetry (voice and EKG). Lab fee. ACLS and PEP/PALS will be included as part of the spring semester and must be successfully completed to receive credit for EMS 2272C - Paramedic II. Pass with a C or better. Prerequisite: EMS 2271C, EMS 2435L with a C or better. Corequisite: EMS 2436L.
