(3 credits) Study of operations on real numbers, solving linear equations and inequalities in one variable, operations on polynomials, including factoring, integer exponents, radicals, graphing techniques, and applications. This course should prepare the student for Intermediate Algebra, MAT 1033. Lab Fee. Prerequisite: MAT 0002 with a grade of C or higher, or appropriate placement test scores. Corequisite: SLS 1101 or prior completion. Prerequisite: CPT scores of 86-120 in Arithmetic and 20-71 in Algebra.
