(3 credits) This course introduces students to examples of atypical child development and disabling conditions in young children and issues related to the care and education of exceptional children. ?* EME 2040 Introduction to Educational Technology (3 credits) This course is an introduction to productivity software, interactive media (including communications hardware), educational software, and instructional applications. It also teaches how to create multimedia presentations, use the Internet in an educational setting, and explore educational technology issues in the social, ethical, and legal arenas. While there are no prerequisites, students should be aware that reading and writing are important parts of the course. Any student scoring into Principles of Reading (REA 0002) and/or Writing (ENC 0020) would be well advised to complete them before attempting this course. This is a prerequisite course for admission to teacher education programs at the university level. Lab fee.
