Class hours: 2.5 Lecture/5.5 Laboratory Prerequisite: WMT 102 and WMT 103 or equivalent with grades of Pass or "C" or higher. This course in furniture making will challenge and improve the student's skills through the manufacturing of a historical chair, the Morris chair. Hand tools, machinery and hand power tools are used in an advanced setting. Topics include planning, manufacturing, utilizing solid wood joinery, complex laminations, subassembly and final assembly as well as finishing. The class focuses on the history and design of the Morris Chair, the first recliner. This course may be taken a maximum of 3 times. Transfer Credit: CSU
